The trip to Mekong Delta offers a glimpse into the agrarian life of the vibrant southern Delta region as we wind our way through the tributaries of the Mekong Delta. From our boats, we are able to closely observe the daily rituals of river life and participate in the bustling commercial activities as we buy our fruits from the floating market.
7.30 AM: You will be picked up at your hotel depart to My Tho.
A smooth one-and-half-hour car ride through rice field scenery along National Highway 1 brings you to the beautiful rural district of Trung Luong. As you leave the bustling city behind, the scenery changes for lush rice paddies to an area is referred to locally as the rice bowl of Vietnam.
On arrival in Ben Tre Province head towards Tien Giang where you will board your sampan for a cruise among the aptly named Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle and Phoenix Islands. En route visit a small factory producing handicrafts made of coconut. Once on Turtle Island, visit a typical orchard where you can taste their exotic fruit.
Have lunch at local restaurant.
After visiting the coconut candy mill, take an amazing rowing boat trip along the small canal. Then continue to Ben Tre province, "the country of coconuts", to see a typical agricultural model known as "Garden - Pond - Cage". Enjoy a relaxing cup of honey tea before returning to My Tho via Tan Thach natural canal, cruising under the shadows of water coconut palms.
6.30 PM: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City.
