Fan Si Pan, the highest mountain in Vietnam and Indochina, 3 150 m / 10 330 feet, is the most popular destination for mountain climbingin the region.

The mountain is located close to Sapa. Many travel operators in Sapa offer a two-three day guided climbing adventure. The best time for mountain climbing is the dry season, October to November, and March to April, when the temperatures are higher than in winter.

The price of the overnight climb with a local guide may vary from 80 to 150 USD, depending on the size of the group and season for climbing.
